Our Relationship With Eating
What you shovel into your mouth every day is so much than just breakfast, lunch, dinner. What you eat can determine your moods, your productivity, your relationships, your lifespan, and more.
Food sustains us.
“Let food be thy medicine.” -Hippocrates
We know we should be healthy. Most of what eat should be green and plant-based. But, a heap of iceberg lettuce and a bucket of ranch dressing won’t be help you live longer, nor will help you feel good and have more energy. The right foods will get you moving and thinking faster in the morning. They will keep you humming through the day. And they will help you live longer and with less disease.
Food makes us feel good.
“I still indulge in a glass of wine or chocolate – treats are mandatory. Without deviating from the day-to-day healthy diet once in a while, it wouldn’t be sustainable for me, and that’s what I wanted: an approach to eating to last my entire life.” -Alanis Morissette
The chemicals and compounds in food can turn a lethargic morning into a rocket booster afternoon; a crappy day into your reason for getting up in the morning. Good food feeds the body and the soul.
But sometimes food makes us feel too good. Food addiction is just as destructive as drugs or alcohol in some cases. You can learn how to avoid and destroy those addictions.
Food is meant to be shared.
“Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all.” –Harriet Van Horne
Dinner for one? Ha. In a world where interactions are limited to 40 characters or less, we are starving for connection. And food is a fantastic way to make and keep those connections.
Finally, food is about blending.
Not just with blenders, although we definitely recommend them. Rather, a healthy physical and emotional life includes blending different types of sustenance, pleasure, and company so that every aspect of your body feels nourishment.
At Learn2Blend (brought to you by founder, Benjy Portnoy), we help hungry people learn how to be healthy, feel better, and live longer through this tasty combination.
Our foundation of healthy eating and living revolves around eating sensibly and maintaining a healthy weight centered around a well-balanced, fresh, whole plant-based diet. But we then through in a dash of fun, a shake of decadence, and enough tactile, savory, sweet elements to help us feel human and alive and wonderful.
If you need help losing weight, making better meal choices, fighting diseases like obesity, cancer, and other diseases, or just learning how to better enjoy what you put in your mouth, we’re here to help.
